Mom,

From the moment we met
you took care of me.
You cared and you worried
sometimes needlessly.

But motherhood isn't something
that you can turn on and off.
You notice each moan, each sneeze and each cough.

And though I'm a man now
and don't need your care.
It's comforting to know
that your love will always be there.

Thanks ever so much to you and Dad for coming over and giving Joanne and I a day of "rest." We enjoyed ourselves immensely and we know that the girls enjoyed themselves, too. We also enjoyed the brief time we got to visit with you guys and look forward to the next time we come to Lafayette (May 22nd?).
